Nice hotel, good value for money. Great location in the heart of rome, just a few minutes walk to the colliseum. Very friendly staff. I'll definitely go back.

    No internet.

Hotel very clean, staff very polite, friendly and helpful

Awful breakfast which was from the cafe next door to the hotel. Cold boring, tasteless food

    Very good

Very friendly staff, clean rooms and a well equipped bathroom, despite the limited room. Ask for a room on the front side: a room with a view and a taste of the Roman street life. Very convenient situated nearby the Forum Romanum, at walking distance from the Colosseum and the Capitol Hill. In front of the hotel are some relatively cheap restaurants, and nearby the excellent restaurant Massenzio - you should taste their beef and pizza!

The beds are not very comfortable and on the small side. You have to keep the windows shut at night because of traffic sounds going on all night.

    Superb

I liked very much the vicinity of the city centre, of the monuments. The staff was very warm and kind.

    No, everything was very satisfying.

    Superb

Fantastic location. Even as a young girl on her own I felt very safe at night and it was within walking distance of everything in Rome, I didn't once get on the underground or a bus. Staff were wonderful and breakfast was pretty decent: Pastry, Coffee, Juice, 2 slices of mini toast with Jam. The room was comfortable, spacious and the cleaners were thorough.

It was late June and boiling outside but I found the room a little chilly at night. And the lift didn't go directly to my floor so I had to carry my suitcase down half a flight but could definitely be worse!

    Good

The location is excellent for Rome's great sights and for restaurants/cafes/ice cream shops. The chaps behind the desk were helpful and friendly. The hotel is basic but clean and had a nice shower. We had a lovely 3 day stay - the hotel's fantastic location allowed us to enjoy the atmosphere of Rome, a city that's always buzzing with people, tourists, group events etc. (nearby there was a Euro gay parade, a Fiat 500 parade and an American/Italian liberation exhibition of WW2 road vehicles on the June weekend we were there) - the road oposite is a main touristic thoroughfare that passes the Colosseum and is a hive of activity. Also, the hotel is a 20 min walk from the lovely Trastevere area and 45-50 mins on foot to Vatican City (if you don't get lost, or distracted by many other beautiful Roman features on the way...).

There wasn't anything bad about this hotel - but it's not luxury or modern at all, it's a basic old Roman hotel, slightly rustic. There are no room facilities other than air con & TV and the fixed breakfast menu (of juice, coffee & donut/pastry) is served by the cafe next door, which you eat in the 'garden' - a sheltered terrace out front by the noisy road (it does have the Roman atmosphere of lots of bustle and social activity, which is a plus or minus depending on your taste). The hotel price is for the location, which is superb.

    Exceptional

I think the Hotel Romano is a charming little hotel. I thought the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Their English is very good and they do all they can to help, especially Santo. The hotel is in an ideal location for all the sights of Rome. I have stayed twice because I feel safe there too. It is very clean and nicely decorated. I will always go back to the Romano as it is also very fairly priced fir central Rome

    Good

The location was great, the beds were very comfortable and it was very clean. For a quick weekend break it is quite 'adaquate' and you could walk to all the major sites easily. There is an area outside where you can sit and have a drink and order food.

The single room I had was so tiny with no natural light (the shutters didn't open). It was noisy being central to the collossem (but then the location made up for that and can be expected). The breakfast was absolutely terrible!!! It is expensive - but thats Rome for you, and when compared to other places nearby relatively cheap. The hotel had no facilities at all ie no lounge area, toileties, hair dryer etc.

    Superb

The manager is very nice and friendly and willing to help. The best thing at Hotel Romano is the location great for site seeing, shopping and so many pizzeria's and gelato every where.

    The Location was excellent.

Breakfast area was outside, which I'm sure in summer is lovely, but in the middle of February wasn't very good.
